Senior Tax Associate (or junior manager)
$85,000 – $115,000
Small enough to know everyone by name. Solid enough to invest in your future.
No worry about getting burnt out here, there's no second busy season
This 30-person firm has the size, structure, and reputation to offer real stability. But what stands out is how they invest in their people. You’ll find partners who take time to review work with you (not just redline it), a team that genuinely enjoys being in the office together, and a firm that builds from within. They’ve had real success hiring in at the senior level and supported people to grow.
They’re looking for an experienced Senior to step into a hands-on, client-facing role, around a 50/50 split between prep and review (pushing 70% review during busy season). You’ll also help develop and guide junior staff, field tax notices, and handle more complex returns including multi-state, 990s, and the odd Trust & Estate return.
There’s a Partner set to retire, another taking on more work, creating a clear path for someone ready to step up into a leadership role in the future as a manager and beyond.
Unlike some larger firms, you won’t need to burn out to move up. Outside of busy season, it’s a 37.5-hour week and in the summer you'll have an even lighter schedule with every other Friday off.
The setup:
You’ll thrive here if you're confident handling a mix of work, happy mentoring others, and want to be part of a supportive, close-knit team with real progression ahead.
EA or CPA both considered.
Don’t worry if you don’t have a resume made up, just reach out on LinkedIn. If you want to explore a genuinely different kind of senior tax role, apply in confidence or message Imogen Talbot Slack at Distinct North America to talk it through. Feel free to text or call 3125849844.
